New Alternatives accepts clients who are 16-24 years old, identify as lesbian, gay, transgender, or bisexual, and are “homeless” or at-risk. We define homelessness broadly to include youth living on the street; youth in shelters, transitional living programs, and foster care; youth who are “couch-surfing”; and youth who are trading sex for a place to stay.
Clients are accepted on a walk-in basis on Sundays from 6pm-8pm and Tuesdays from 5pm-9pm at Middle Collegiate Church, 50 E 7th St. NYC NY 10003. Identification is not required and a referral letter is not necessary. We will provide verification of the client’s attendance upon request.
